Stray observations:
1) I don't even recognize Heath Ledger, but his take on the Joker looks fascinating; this could be the role he's remembered for if the rest of the movie plays its cards right (no pun intended).
2) Maggie Gyllenhaal looks great in the role of Rachel Dawes. I can't wait to see what kind of depth she can bring to the character. Also, she's seen sitting at a table with District Attorney Harvey Dent (the future Two-Face) in a fancy restaurant - does that imply a romantic relationship between the two, or is it purely professional?
3) For all you Lost fans, Nestor Carbonell (the Island's immortal Other, Richard Alpert) makes a brief mascara-laden appearance in the trailer as the mayor of Gotham.
4) I recant my previous reservations about the batpod and the new batsuit. That crazy motorcycle/tank thing really works on-screen, especially with Batman's cape flapping in the wind, and the new suit looks just as terrifying as its predecessor.
5) The new batcave looks a lot like the Intersect computer room from NBC's Chuck...
